Jill. Among my life's most memorable occurences, from 1990-2005, sporadically my late husband and I crewed on a yacht belonging to a friend. These were pleasure/work times. Beginning in the fall we took the vessel from southwest Michigan to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In the spring, the route was reversed. The preferred route was using inland waterways to the Hudson river, then to the Atlantic ocean. In times of flood, we had to use different inland waterways to the Gulf of Mexico. We either went south around the FL keys or through Clear Water to the Okeechobee to the Atlantic. Rare and wonderful occasions.
