*Update 9th April* - (still using my wife's iPad) Hopefully it shouldn't be too long before the problems can be sorted out, I've getting Jigidi withdrawal symptoms!

Apologies, I've been having some internet access issues with my computer over the last "wee while"; just managed to borrow my wife's iPad to send this message. All being well, problems should be resolved in a few days and I'll be back to reply to all your messages and continue posting my puzzles!

Photography is something which I’ve always enjoyed. Not that I’m any good at it, but by taking LOADS of photos, the law of averages mean that a few are almost worthy of inflicting on other people, in the hope that they can get some of the enjoyment that I felt when looking at the original subject matter. Serendipity plays a large part in the images; I always have a camera with me, so when something unusual or interesting catches my eye, I’ll stop the car (if it’s safe to!), or persuade the dog to stop walking for a moment and snap away. Luckily, Scotland is my home ... which almost guarantees a half-decent image due to the natural beauty and the ever-changing lighting conditions.

Digitally manipulated images generally leave me cold - all my photographs are without photoshop enhancement and as I saw the image in my eye as the shutter-button was pressed. I do use a CPL (polarising filter) which can sometimes accentuate available colours and I occasionally tweak the contrast - but if there’s any other form of manipulation it’s mentioned along with the photo.

Taking a photo of a well known tourist site often seems pointless, as there are so many images already around, most of them better than I could ever hope to achieve; so what I try to do is find a ‘different viewpoint’ or an interesting detail instead.

By the way, every puzzle that I share is always from a photo that I have personally taken.

I joined Jigidi on 27 April 2014 and was last seen on 9 April 2021. I've solved 3705 puzzles (1.5 daily) and put together 250577 pieces (98.7 daily)
