My mother and I used to take road trips back in the 90s and early 2000s traveling throughout the country with the goal of physically driving in all of the lower 48...lighthouses have always held an interest for me and if one came along near our route off we went...I remember this one very well as well as the drive north towards it. Mama usually did not walk them, but she waited patiently for me to go up and come back down. I have a small replica of this one sitting on my fireplace mantle along with a few others.
