@bevpuzzler8 most of the 80’s and early 90’s we roomed at the Ford City Holiday Inn on Cicero as it was central to most of our inbound and outbound assignments.

You have a great day as well Bev.

@GTWHOGGER
You never had to layover at Gibso? There is a rooming house called Chuck and Irenes,, sometimes if engineerrs ran over their time on the track would stay over .
The original owners have passed, but their son still runs it. Nice talking to you. Bev

@bevpuzzler8 I worked on for the GTW as a locomotive engineer for 34 years and used to take trains in and out of Riverdale, Gibson, and to the CNW Proviso Yard via the IHB at Blue Island tower to CP Hill.

I put in ten years for P.R.R then went to Indiana Harbor Belt R.R. another eleven years.
Fun days. PRR in acctg. and IHB sometimes had to check trains in the yards.
That was the time the women protested we could not go into the yards especially at night...the women won. I was not to happy about that. Night time at the lake front at night in summer time. NOT Good.

Nice pic!

That color scheme, sure looks like the old "T" (MBTA) from the Boston area. Thanks, GTWHOGGER.
