I found this photograph which I took in 2015. A nest had fallen out of the cotoneaster bush in the front garden - we found it after we had some high winds & think it was the sparrows' nest as they like to nest there every year. I am amazed at its intricacy & construction - & to think birds build this with only their beaks - I couldn't construct something like this if I were to use my own hands! Nature really is wonderful.

I haven't seen a bird nest up close in many years. I used to be fascinated by the nests I did see.

Oh, what a shame, Cyndi. Well, at least all little ones will have fledged by now, so it just means that rather than repair an old nest, they parent birds will have to start from scratch again next year! Thank you, you too. Enjoy your day & evening. It's been very hot & humid here, thunderstorms are threatened but none yet - perhaps the air will clear once we get some rain - heaven alone knows the gardens need it!

Lovely photo of this bird nest. The other day when I was walking in my neighborhood after a heavy rain I found two bird nests that were waterlogged and fell out of a tree. Hope you have a good day my friend. Stay safe. In Joy your day
