It was a terrible thing to do to 5 young lives

sandy123olive

My Aunts went and saw them thru the glass like they were in a zoo!

Yes, their lives were terribly exploited. I think it was both the Catholic Church and the government at the time that were to blame.

I know it is a sad story, the Canadian Government took them from the parents. I hope it was a lesson learned for the public.

I sure remember when they were born and young...I guess the parents needed the money with having to bring up all the girls....but it sure was too bad that they had to be exploited so much.....I felt very sorry for them all....was so sad.....just one "man's" opinion of course

Anyone alive in the 40's and 50's probably remembers the Dionne Quints, the first
quintuplets known to survive birth. From the day of their birth in Ontario, Canada, their story and their photographs were in the news almost constantly until they reached adulthood. . They were exploited, living in a child zoo, brought out twice daily to a fenced in play area, where literally thousands of visitors gathered to watch them.
I believe that two of the sisters are still living.
