Highway to the tunnel during autumn rain

One time it was past 4:30 & my daughter aged 6 was not home yet. I was worried sick, especially since she was the last to be dropped off. That was not a good scene so we changed the routine by moving her to an after school program at our church & then her father picked her up.

Wow we have a lot in common I grew up in Stanley and my son was born in Fredericton. Many days the school bus would get stuck and we would have to walk home lol.

We lived in Pennfield Ridge for 4 years. My ex was a microbiologist in Black’s Harbour. My sons were born in St. John. Where we lived was basically on an open field and yes, the winters could be brutal. A lot of snow back then.

Winters don't seem as bad as they use to be. Still long though I grew up in NB and had really bad storms.

I do love the colours that autumn brings along with the different scents in the air, but then we get that long winter 😩

Yes it is and Autumn is my favorite season.

Apparently the climate change as in heat wave this summer has caused some trees to go brown early & others not take on the bright colours. What a bummer that is, for sure.

Not as pretty here as they usually are.

So you’re just over an hour from me. Yes, the valley has some lovely areas but the colours this year are not as vibrant.

@renie101 - Yes, we are thankfully having amazingly warm weather in NS. I live in the Annapolis valley but travel to East Hants to visit my son. The colours are not as vibrant this year, however, but still lovely in some areas. Where are you located? 😁 Birgit

Still warm today here in NS … about 22C which is awesome for this time of year. Getting cold out west though.

Well we're just hoping for a little bit of spring to actually reach us, its midday here and 17 degrees. Or some rain, either would be good :)

Yes, we’ll see if this autumn has the same colour vibrancy since we’ve had such a hot summer.

@coolerstor - Thanks for commenting. I’m glad you enjoyed the puzzle. We’re experiencing moderate temps in the low 20’s C which is lovely & we hope this weather continues into Oct. 🤣

Thanks, Sherry, for sharing your thoughts. I’m with you all the way. But I also love walking in a warm rain in an autumn forest & then coming back to a hot drink. A soft drizzling rain is very soothing to one’s spirit. 😁

While I love Spring, the rainy days of Fall and the gorgeous colors of the turning leaves is somehow comforting to me. I love sitting in a big, comfy chair, with a really good book and something hot to drink while I listen to the rain outside. Not many things are finer than that. Sherry
