Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Dear friends, I have been offline for so long due to what Lemony Snickett would describe as a series of unfortunate events.
My laptop has been increasingly dodgy and is on its second visit to the PC hospital. Our home internet connection somehow gobbled all our data by the middle of the month and as we cannot afford the astronomical charges for top up data have been without a means of connecting with the outside world. My son's computer also went bust a month ago so it has been a very traumatic time of taking it apart and rebuilding numerous times. I had no work connection either until a week ago and then my laptop crashed again.

All of this is to explain that I have not succumbed to the dreaded Covid, rather I and Mike are now double jabbed, which is a great relief. Masks, sanitizers and hand washing continue unabated. There is another new variant in the area but the Delta variant is most common.

I hope that this first day of September and Spring is going to bring a change of fortunes for us all. I miss you all and my daily interactions with dear friends around the world. Keep safe and God bless.

Hi Patti, Patsy, Connie and Juice, thanks for the welcome back. It's been a bit of a time so I am very glad to be back online. Those are scary figures you've got in school. Apparently there is another new variation doing the rounds in the Eastern Cape but I haven't heard of anyone I know testing positive or ending up in hospital. There were a lot of ambulances lined up outside ER each afternoon at our hospital one block down from our campus last week. It seems back to normal this week. Keep safe and well everyone. Hugs to all, Jayne

Love this uplifting puzzle; your reference to Lemony Snicket made me chuckle. I remember reading the series to my boys at bedtime many years ago.

Hello, Jayne! I'm sorry for your computer problems, but relieved that it wasn't illness. That's a gorgeous bouquet! Happy Spring! And happy back-to-the-connected-world. We just got back from a day at the seaside, I waded in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time and enjoyed a great meal with friends and my daughter who is visiting us from the States. Stay healthy and so glad you're back. Connie

Wow! I’m glad I am not a teacher anymore

Jayne, I was starting to worry; so glad you've gotten both shots. Delta is raging in schools here. My daughter teaches 3rd grade and her morning class was quarantined on day 2. They did not start sharing kids ( morning & afternoon classes) until this Monday; however, that other class went out for quarantine last Friday. Her morning class came back , but 5 are already out again. Her district had 77 kids test positive the 1st week and 166 the second with 144 quarantined the 1st and 1,200 the 2nd week. New numbers are posted each Wednesday. I've been too afraid to check today.
