I like hearing bagpipes playing, and The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond is a nice tune. And unsuspecting hearing it at a such beautiful evening sounds great.
One evening at sunset long ago, I walked down to the beach where I could look across the water at a harbor about half a mile away. The wind was blowing gently towards me from the harbor and a lovely plaintive tune was wafting toward me -- a Scottish tune called Loch Lommond. I found out later a good looking young man about 18 years old (a friend of someone living near the harbor) was playing his bagpipes. I never knew bagpipes could sound so lovely. It wasn't this harbor, but the scene was strikingly similar. (somehow your wolf howling reminded me of that night and the discovery that a bagpipe could sound lovely)
WOW. Don't know how I missed the two of you, Ardy! You must have popped in while I was writing to Advia right on the cusp between two and three hours ago.
These Herreshoffs are too small for an overnight, they are what we call Day sailers because they have no cabin, no bunks, no tiny kitchens, no heads (bathrooms). The "cabin" is only big enough to store a few lifejackets. hugs
So many different sundowns all on the same heavens! This one to me has a soothing quality, like a promise of protection, so these boats can peacefully sway on the water. Might be the soft tones of the colors that gives that impression. Great foto again - thank you very much!
Beautiful, Jacki. I've often wondered how I would do overnight on a small boat with my tendency to motion sickness. The one time I was on a ferry overnight I woke up in not too long after going to sleep with a problem. No chance of finding that out now. lol Thanks. ♥Hugs♥
