I remember as a child, around 1966 or 67, being sent to the depanneur(corner store in Quebec) for a pack of Belvedere cigarettes 49 cents, and a loaf of plain sliced white bread 26 cents. Now that same loaf of bread is $3.89 and the cigs are about $12.75
I'm not sure on what and when. I was living at home a in 1970. Didn't marry til 1975. If we were having beef or pork it came from our farm. Dad would have them butchered. way before that parents did our own chickens too.
