Universal Joints

It's been a while since I posted this. I did find some info but not a lot. Believe they said something about this arrangement cuts down on vibration.

Two cardan joints in a row to compensate for axis angle and misalignment. With two joints you also have a linear transmission of the rotational movement.
Heavy stuff!

I could not find anything definitive to this joint but it seems to be more a matter of handling high torque in things like large container ships. The biggets diesel engines turning low rpm.

Big piece of Kit - how many rpm can it handle? Where/what is is?
