Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Using Red Heart "Shaded Dusk" variegated yarn, I used double crochet to make this for my grandson Jorje. It is 3 feet wide and about 6 feet long. I did 1 row of Blanket stitch on each end to give it a finished look. Jorje's Birthday is El Dia de Los Reyes (the Day of the Kings) Jan. 6th so it will be both Christmas and Birthday gifts.

Thank you Bubble. He did say he loved it.

Bubble

This is a lovely Afghan Nana and bet Jorje's cosy and warm using it. Good job ᐤ ❣ ᐤ

dhi

Ah, with my eyesight, I always miss the grey print, it does not register for me.

nanapuzzler

This is an old puzzle. I gave it to him last Christmas lol!

dhi

This has turned out beautifully but isn't it a cool weather project?

nanapuzzler

Děkuji. Ano, Jorje se to moc líbilo. Požádal o modrou barvu.

ondrejkovaeva

Jsi moc šikovná, deka je krásná a vnoučatům se určitě také moc líbí :-D

nanapuzzler

Thank you niccolino!

niccolino59

This is beautiful, nana. You are very talented. It looks very warm & cosy.

nanapuzzler

Thank you Marina! I'm working on 1 now for my 10 year old Grandson in CA. It is in camo colored variegated yarn.

MarinaNephele

Lovely colors and design. Congratulations!

nanapuzzler

Thank you @Sissel ! It is very soft and cozy*

Sissel

Thank you so much for sharing Nana. Looks lovely and cosy :-)))

dhi

Yes, it would be a difficult pattern to manage in wool.

nanapuzzler

Holy cow! Donna, that would be so hard to do in crochet. You'd be changing yarns every few stitches for the peaks! It is a beautiful design though...thanks for the link :)))

dhi

It is interesting that the pattern worked out that way.
Here is a link to a fabric in a bargello pattern.

Merry Christmas and big hugs to you Rosalia!! How are things on your side of "the pond"?? Are you starting to get the vaccines where you live? We have high hopes that 2021 will be better :))

Rozalia

You're very good, Nancy! It’s a huge and joyous job when we create for grandchildren. You will definitely be very happy. You are blessed! Merry Christmas! Hugs!

nanapuzzler

Thank you so much brightie dear *!* I'll be starting on 2 smaller ones for my new grandsons (9 years and 4 months) in January. I hope your Chanukah (sp?) was a Blessed peaceful one ♥*♥

brightspark

Absolutely Magnificent - I can see how much love you put into this - your grandson will be thrilled ♥♥♥ well done and merry Christmas Eve ☺☺

nanapuzzler

@DizzyDame7 Thank you, I hope he does too!!

Mila - you are so right...we are fortunate to have each other!!

dj - I have also used J and K and halfway through was kicking myself for not doing so this time. I'm going to make my new Daughter-in-law one for her March Birthday and will use the larger hook and maybe one of those fatter chenille-like yarns.

Donnajames

Nancy, I have made afghans with J, K, and L hooks and used two strands of yarn to make them in a weekend! Using the same pattern instructions, it comes out much larger than stated in the booklet, plus I always make them longer than called for. Try it sometime and see how you like it. :-))

(p.s. - two strands of variegated yarn won't work, I don't think. lol)

That is absolutely gorgeous. Hope that he appreciates it!

nanapuzzler

Thanks pasta...you must have been commenting at the same time as I was:)))

nanab - Thank you so much!

oynot - I taught myself to crochet in 1971 after my divorce to keep my sanity. Women's Day magazine had a step-by-step easy guide. It took lots of practice to look even.

Heidi - Thank you! I have mad respect for your talents too!

dhi Donna - I don't know what a bargello pattern is but the yarn is variegated so it made the pattern as I went...no skill on my part.

generic_bear2 - Thank you so much!! I hope he thinks so.

Birgit - Thank you so much!! You can write poetry for Xavier :))

sillychick - Thank you! I would happily make one for you and ALL my friends on jigidi!! If I use a larger needle, it goes much faster.

Cyndi - I dearly hope he will be proud of it!

Denyce - Thank you so much!

Jaynine - Thank you for your kind words! Maybe you could crochet booties or a stuffed animal for her. I have lots of patterns from Annie's Attic in the 1980's ;)))

Ellen - Thank you so much! I made a black and white one for my son and a camo (variegated yarn) for another grandson. In the last 6 years I've made 20 of them for family.

Karen - Yes! You can be my granddragon and I would crochet one for each of my jigidi friends gladly!

pasta

Wow! That is gorgeous. :)

karencubbison

Wow, this is wonderful! Can I be your granddragon? :)

PutterDutt

It's just lovely! VI did a smaller one for my Grandfather many years ago in red, black and white. Yours will be a treasured keepsake for Jorje.

Jaynine

You’re such a talented and wonderful Gramma! It’s magnificent! I’m sure that he will treasure it always! I was going to crochet one for my granddaughter but my daughter says that she has enough blankets. My sister is making a quilt for her though to match the one she made for my daughter. So, that’s pretty neat/cool/awesome - whatever the word now is for “great”.

Denyce

Wonderful - well done Nancy**

Isaly2

Oh my Nancy you did an amazing job crocheting this. Your grandson will be so proud of it.

sillychick

He is sooooo lucky & Blessed 2 have you 4 a G-mother :)

sillychick

Birgit73

That is amazing, Nancy. Many hours went into that but I’m sure your grandson will love it.

That is beautiful!!! Lucky grandson!!

dhi

What a beautifully executed bargello pattern, way to go! He will love it.

Surreal_Heidi

WOW!!!!!

Respect!

oynot

WOW! I wish I could do that. I've tried but somehow it looked like a knotted ball of yarn :-(

nanab

This is gorgeous nanap, great job! : )

nanapuzzler

Sorry...I left a zero out on @Askme001 and the underscore out on @Surreal_Heidi !!

Thank you so much dj, Jean and Iammjc !! I promised I would post it when I was done:))
Jean and Rob, I look forward to going on another adventure with you in the future*****

Iammjc

What a beautiful gift!

myself1935

Dear Nancy- l am very well aware of the demands on your time and on your life- l did miss you on the cruise but l knew you cannot do all you want on Jigidi- My goodness. no apology is warranted- Rob and l had a good time producing it and we were very gratified at the response-

The afghan Jorje is getting is GORGEOUS- and good for you to have made it large enough that he will enjoy it for many years-

Love,
Jean

Donnajames

This is absolutely wonderful. You did an incredible job. :-)) dj

I know I'm forgetting some names but too tired to think!

Dear Jean and Rob, please forgive me for not joining in on your WONDERFUL world tour that you worked so hard on and looked like so much fun!! I saved all the puzzles but the fun is in the banter and fantasy that takes place at the time and I was too busy sewing stuffed animals and crocheting this afghan. I am so sorry!!
