Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Getting taller every day but no longer acting like a female. Ever since we took the other Rooster out of the pen, he/she has been jumping all the hens and crowing all the time! The other Rooster is quite happy with Ryan's hens. We are trying to sell them all so we can get Ryan an anxiety service dog - can't afford to feed the chickens and feed and train a rescue dog.

nanapuzzler

Sorry to worry you...been taking Ryan to therapy and counseling appointments AND crocheting 2 afghans for Birthday gifts. Ryan is doing much better!

myself1935

You have my best wishes as well, dear Nancy and Ryan

Isaly2

Just checking on you my friend. I see you haven't been on here for a couple of days. Hope everything is okay. Sending big hugs your way.

nanapuzzler

Thank you Birgit, oynot and brightie for your encouragement and appreciation*!*

brightspark

Oh Cocoa is GLorious xxxx hugs and much love ♥♥♥ and good luck on finding the right dog ♥♥♥

oynot

Thank you nanapuzzler for tagging me. You know I like chickens and roosters :-)

Birgit73

I'm sure that you did have quite the time of your life raising little tweet tweet hellions into bigger chicken, but I agree that you need to focus on what's important and if Ryan needs an anxiety service dog, then that's the way to go. I'm sure you'll see a great difference once the two become partners and friends. You can still do gardening on a smaller scale, too. Good luck in finding the 'one' rescue dog.

nanapuzzler

Thank you all so much!! I am so lucky to have such good friends!
I googled it and sometimes chickens change sex? or act like it but since I'm not a vet, I don't know for sure.
As for the dog, we are looking for one with a calm, laid-back personality and checking into the possibility of getting one already trained. Ryan's friend got one that they took to training classes. We shall see. The Farm down the road has chickens and we have a call in to them to see if they would be interested in buying ours. I will let you all know when we get a dog and post a picture ****

Thanks Bill, for fixing Heidi's tag. I forgot the underscore.

Twin, I think an alpaca would be fun to have as a pet but NOT in the house. Ryan and I are allergic to cats or their dander. I would love a lab but we should probably find a smaller dog if possible. P.S. I have a stuffed Llama I got when I worked at Barnes & Noble that went with the "Is Your Mama a Llama?" books.

sillychick

I'm sorry it has to come to this, butt you had an Adventure w/all of these chickens. My service animal is a little rainbow stuffed llama keychain I found @ the DFW Airport. I don't have 2 train or feed it, & I have 2 Grey, 2 Tan, & 2 Brown hand size stuffed llamas that I have around the house, so when the PSTD, anxiety, & stress kicks in I can just squeeze the heck out of them. I do have a very lovable Doggie, butt she has no empathy, butt a gr8 comfort. I am excited 2 hear about Ryan's Special Service Animal. What kind of Dog are you getting (send us a picture puzzle of her or him if you can). I sure do hope the Doggie helps Ryan (My Awesome MoM-in-law has pet allergies or I would get me a 'real' 1). I think I may 1 day get me a house broken or Florida weather friendly 'real'...wait 4 it...an Alpaca...I read where they are more lovable & a lot smaller than a llama, *LOL*. it could work. Butt I will settle & love a Doggie, NO CATS (yuck,) Not sorry :) I love you @nanapuzzler aka as My !Twin! :)

Bill_I_Am

He's a good looking fella! I trust you will have no trouble selling him and his hens. And let me straighten out that tag so Heidi gets it: @Surreal_Heidi.

Best of luck, Nancy, to your and Ryan!

PutterDutt

Good luck with your mission! Service dogs of that sort can be 'most any breed. Look around and see if there is a facility near you that does that sort of training. They might be able to point you at a dog that is partially or totally trained. Or check with local organizations that provide services to wounded Veterans. The main purpose of a service animal of this sort is to provide confidence to the owner.

myself1935

Lovely rooster- l am sure you will find a buyer-
l am sure you know this- but be careful with a rescue- l am sure you will work with a reputable shelter that tries to match personalities-
Good luck-

nanab

Gorgeous colors, that's a beautiful fine feathered friend.
I thought service dogs were trained before going to homes.
I hope things go well for both of you and wishing Ryan a long and comforting relationship with his new dog.

robf

Hi Nancy,
That's a fine photo! Will get right on it; it has just the right number of pieces for this busy day.
The spelling you'll want to use for a tag of yours that didn't work (it stayed black when posted, instead of turning blue) is @ Surreal_Heidi .

Thank you

pasta

What a beauty. Good luck, and God bless. Stay safe. :)

Donnajames

Are there other places around that have chickens? dj

Isaly2

Cocoa sure is a beauty. I'm sure you will be able to sell all of your chickens in order to get Ryan a service dog. What breed are you looking at? Hope you and Ryan are both okay. Have a good rest of the day and Sunday. Please stay safe....Hugs
