Roses again. The enchanting and elegant plant has many beautiful quotations, sayings, and poetry to its name. The petal structure of this plant is so intricate that it's difficult to do roses any real justice in art. However, many famous painters, such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, and Paul Cezanne, have painted the flower well.

These sentiments contain some beautiful and elegant sayings that provide you with a tranquil read. The sayings are also ideal verses to complete a themed project, whether it's a card, scrapbook, or words to suit a custom-designed gift.

"Love is like a rose. When pressed between two lifetimes, it will last forever."
— Unknown Author

"The rose is a flower of love. The world has acclaimed it for centuries. Pink roses are for love hopeful and expectant. White roses are for love dead or forsaken, but the red roses, ah the red roses are for love triumphant." —Unknown Author

"Go, lovely rose! Tell her that wastes her time and me That now she knows, When I resemble her to thee, How sweet and fair she seems to be." —Edmund Waller

"Let the beauty and fragrance of a rose touch your soul." Anon

How lovely your wedding flowers sound Kim. I did post something about Heritage roses and their resistance to garden bugs and diseases a couple of days ago. All your purple roses do sound unusual and special. Glad you enjoyed the puzzle. Jayne

Hi Jayne, Thank you for entertaining us with your quota of quotes, fancy fabrics and rosy rubrics... I especially like the large panel on the top row, and the pale blue and aqua on the left column. I grew heirlooms out here in the country, since they were more resistant to black spot and bugs (except for Fire Ants - 'nuff said), and since our yard was so much larger than in the suburbs of Northwest Houston. When in "town", though I grew more hybrids and I think my very favorite was the Angel Face, for its lavender color and amazing scent. I also had a Purple Peace, and I just saw a photo of another purple (I think new) called the Perfume Factory (Mmm!)
My Bridal bouquet had Tea Roses and a bit of Stephanotis, baby's breath and 2 white lilies in the middle. My Husband-to-be gave a small bouquet of roses to my Mom, I gave one to his Mom and we gave one to Mary, the Blessed Mother in thanks for the blessings of the day. So, yes Roses were in our celebration.
