Yes, it is, Ianto. Thank you, GG. Yes, as his dad said, he's a miracle boy. He spent the first eight months in the hospital's NICU and came home with casts on his legs, oxygen, and many other issues. He was born with an omphalocele (look it up), which the Lord greatly reduced in size before he was born, severe club feet, six toes on each foot, inability to breathe on his own, a genetic syndrome called Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome, etc. He has had numerous surgeries and procedures and still has many challenges. Even so, he has a sweet disposition despite through all he's gone through. He seems to have a growth spurt in the last few months and has really gotten tall. Yes, God has been faithful in answer to the prayers of numerous people. We are so grateful.
Such a sweet family photo, Li. While I don't know Ian's story, I am sure it was and is prayer that has enabled him and his family to be doing so well. Ian has grown so much since the last time I remember seeing a photo of him! I'm so glad they were able to come visit you along with other family members!! ☺♥
Yes, he was safe, Ianto. He's a little afraid of new things, so I don't think he'll do anything dangerous by himself. He DID, say that he wanted to ride his bike (with training wheels) on the street and chase ten ambulances!!!! Thanks, Jillian. This is our miracle boy -- literally. It's so fun to see him enjoying the outdoors like this. Yes, we DID have a wonderful and memorable time!
The day was in the 90s, Ed, but there was a nice breeze that made it tolerable. It's always nice down by Lake Superior! Thank you, Jacki. Ians mother was holding onto him, so I don't think he could fall. When they got closer to the actual water, he got scared and wanted to go back. My good days are gone, too, Sylvia, but I just "graduated" from physical therapy for balance, so I might do better than i've done for a while. That's really true, Sharon, that they now have a context for me. Ian is truly a miracle child, as his dad commented when he introduced someone to him over the weekend. Both he and his parents have done so well, but I fully believe it's the power of prayer that has made it possible. Thank you. Oh, yes, Ianto. A misstep would not be fun!
Great family photo. Ian looks so good. What a long way your little warrior has come. I am so glad all your grandsons could visit you on your home turf. I am sure they enjoyed exploring your area and getting away from the cities. And now they have a place to picture you in when they think of you.
Lovely photo of Ian trying rough terrain together with Mom and Dad. Lots of fun to climb there, although I wouldn't step on there any more. My good days are gone, lol!
What a perfect title for this one, Li! And a great shot! It reminds me of younger days with my own kids. (Though I generally tried to be on the down side so I could catch the kid if necessary.)
