My Mom & Dad took us on many U.P. vacations. I had a a Aunt & Uncle that moved to Marquette in the 50's. We went everywhere! Porcupine Mountain, Copper Harbor... My dad loved to hunt and had deer hunting buddies and married couples that went to a deer cabin in lower Mi. He even shot a bear! Also loved fishing, making sure he left people at home to tend to the farm for a week!

I love Michigan! Thanks for letting me know. I bet he loved it too!

I was born in the U.P. long before we were called Yoopers. I don't know when or how that term started. I was just curious - I haven't lived in Michigan for years, but I still miss it!

yes I do live in Mich. But below the bridge 30 -35 mile north of Detroit. Along the st, Clair river between Detroit and Port huron
