Brightie, you always have such joyful and upbeat puzzles. I love solving them. And we certainly need all the joy we can get during these times. Happy Rosh Hashana and blessings to you and yours!
That was the problem with my mother making the fish stock all day. Using the veggie/fish stock is not such a problem. After it's done, I strain it through coffee filters and then freeze it for the next adventure.
Lefty - I used to buy the gefilte fish already minced and mixed with onion and carrots - the problem was that the house smelled for a day or two after cooking it. We loved the fried version but now no longer fry anything in oil xxx Hugs to you and yours ♥♥♥
The fish making process is a lot easier than it used to be when my mother started with the making of the fish stock. I took what I inherited from her and made it grow with water and veggies. Preparing the fish with food processor is also much simpler than in the olden days, but it is a bit of work, especially going shopping for the fish. I did look in a couple of shops and had no luck getting the right combination, so my neighbors and I will do without for this holiday 'cause I'm not brave enough to eat the stuff from a jar.
Hugs and chuckles my dearest lefty, we are going to our daughter. Will also be buying challah. I gave up on making gefilte fish Years ago - so much easier to buy it now (though it costs an arm and a leg and maybe a couple of toes too) xxxxx wishing you a beautiful blessed safe and healthy good year ♥♥♥ with lots of love ♥♥♥
Thanks for another fun and touching puzzle, as well as the Rosh Hashana reminder. I've already decided to skip the gefilte fish making, checked with the grocery store to make sure they'll have round challah so I don't have to make it (theirs is much better). My big concession to the holiday is that I might wear a pair of shoes with my casual outfit as I attend services on Zoom.
