:-)

LOL, as I don't care for popcorn, that never occurred to me, but it's the perfect analogy! :-)

bluebird42

I admit to feeling a pang of sympathy when a huge great blue has nothing more than a tiny minnow to snack on. It's sort of like being offered one kernel of popcorn and then having to wait for the next one to come by.

I always feel sorry for any heron or egret when I see them dip their heads down again and again without catching anything. I hate to think of them being hungry.

bluebird42

Thanks, Ginni. This one stood still for a bit, but did more pacing than I usually see. He dipped his head a few times, but didn't seem to be catching much of anything.

Great shot, Jacki! I saw one catch a funny-shaped fish yesterday, but didn't get a decent photo.

How beautiful thanks Jacki. Hugs ♥

bluebird42

Thank you, Jill. They are such majestic looking birds, I suppose because they are big and can be so still.

Thanks, Heicel. I do enjoy getting good photos of these birds.

Heicel

I do agree with ringleader - this has all the qualities of a painting! So, double thanks for the puzzle!

JillianB

Perfect and beautiful shot, thank you Jacki

bluebird42

You're welcome Ardy, and thank You. hugs

This could be a painting, Jacki. Looks like brush strokes in the feather over its back. Beautiful. Thank you. ♥Hugs♥

bluebird42

Thanks, Ed.

Thank you Advia. They stay completely still for long periods of time so the fish or crabs forget they are there. Then there is a lightning fast stab of that long beak and breakfast is ready to swallow. Because they are so still, they are easy to photograph.

Gorgeous photo, Jacki!
