Thanks for the Durham cathedral puzzle. I live about 20 minutes from the cathedral, which was founded by monks fleeing Viking raids on the island of Lindisfarne about 1000 years ago. Work on the cathedral started over 900 years ago and with a building of this age, restoration work is ongoing. The bodies of St. Cuthbert and The Venerable Bede and the head of St Oswald are in the cathedral. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a fascinating place to visit.
