Why are you reporting this puzzle?

This barn is very old but it is also very sad. If I were a cow, I would be nervous if I had to spend any time in it. It is located along Oregon's Highway 395 in the eastern part of the state. This was taken four years ago this week so the barn may not still be standing.

I will be anxious to know if it is still standing. :-)

dblay, thanks for the comment. If I get by that way again, I will check and see if it still stands. Terry

Good morning, Terry. You are so right about this barn -- as I look at it, I expect it to fall in at any moment right before my eyes. :-)) But, I am very glad it was there for your perfect (as always) photo and our puzzle. So much fun and thank you for sharing it.

I'll bet that barn is older than anyone looking at your puzzle. My great grandfather homesteaded in the general area and built his house with the help of neighbors at about the 1880's (still lived in ) as I would suspect the barn was . Have seen it too, but at least 5 or 6 years ago.

bjondron, I will look forward to it, Terry

Yes, I agree MichiganSparrow! When: built, what animals, farm implements, and/or crops were inside. I grew on here in Mich. and my dad was a farmer.
I love old barns... No wonder you do to! Many a MI Sparrows build their nest, raised a family and were sheltered from the weather elements, in a 4 seasons. I have stories I wrote from many barn puzzles.

What a history this barn would tell us, if it could talk.

bjondron

No doubt like in all the cowboy shows, the bank owned the farm and payment wasn't made. Not the farmer or rancher's fault. A dry spell, or storm hit or they got sick and died. I never could understand why big business loved to let land run down. This barn went up with a purpose and had character and was loved...once.

I have some puzzles that I wrote on. I'll send you one.

olando: Vips, barns are like people. When they are young they are in good physical condition and look very attractive. When they are old, like the majority of us on this site, we start to look more like the barn in this photo. Terry

seagirl7

joaniebaloney, there is a lot of truth to what you said. I have seen numerous examples of that, Terry

olando

Compared with the beautiful barn you posted yesterday, very sad. Vips

joaniebaloney

I agree it is sad... the well-kept, showy new barns in the area are mostly put up by outsiders with big bank accounts who want to play rancher - or have a showplace to go to for hunting trips for their corporate clients
